How the Millis Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 3 Select Board members elected townwide for three-year terms, one seat each year. Ellen Rosenfeld joined after the May 2022 election; Peter Jurmain left. Covers 26 meetings, May 16 to April 24, 2023.
A monthly email on what it voted on, starting in November.
What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.
Loaded: Millis Select Board minutes (called the Board of Selectmen until 2019) from January 8, 2018 through June 15, 2026, from the Minutes folder on the town website. The town has not posted minutes for any meeting after June 15, 2026, or for six meetings in the fall of 2025 (September 8, 18 and 29, October 6, November 10 and 24) and four earlier in 2026 (January 26, April 27, May 18 and June 1). The town posts agendas online only from 2023, so earlier gaps can’t be checked. We list every meeting without minutes, and MassVoter is asking the town for them. The minutes are typed. Most votes are recorded as unanimous or as a roll call by name, so we show each member’s vote. When the minutes say a member called the meeting to order, that member is counted present even if the list of people present names only the others. When the minutes give only a count that doesn’t match the members present, or no result, we show that without guessing; about 30 motions with no recorded result are left out. At joint meetings, only the Select Board members’ votes are shown. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
October 17, 2022: Allow the road to be open be connected
To allow the road to be open be connected
Ellen Rosenfeld stepped aside (recused) on this vote. The minutes say Ellen Rosenfeld recused herself from this item (road opening, Route 109/McDonald's).
“Sel. Schultze made a motion to allow the road to be open be connected. Sel. Underhill seconded this motion, and the motion passed unanimously..” (Motion: Schultze, second: Underhill)
