How these numbers work
  • Counted from the official minutes, for 2020–2021 Council only. Committee meetings and routine votes (adjourning, approving minutes) are not counted.
  • Attendance counts the meetings where the minutes list Huff-Larmond as present or absent at the start.
  • Only votes the minutes record member by member are counted. Voice votes and votes given only as a count (for example 6-3 with no names) are not.
  • Percentages are shown only when there are at least 10 meetings or votes to count.
  • A split vote is one where at least one member voted yes and another voted no. “In the minority” means on the side with fewer votes; ties are not counted.
  • “Whole board” combines every member’s record for the same term.

These numbers describe the record; they are not a grade. A no vote, an abstention or a minority vote is neither good nor bad. MassVoter never rates officials.

From the minutes

“Councilor Burgess - I would like to make a motion that we officially endorse the role as defined by the Finance Director under the construction of a new school and the 2 ½ borrowing. The Finance Director can fine tooth the language that it may entail. I think it is important that we endorse that. Councilor Brewer - I second the motion. Councilor Clifton - I am not opposed to it. I would like to see more discussion on this. In writing specifically what her role and responsibilities would be. Councilor Burgess - I believe it was made in the form of a motion that the we turned Devine over to the schools and they turned it over to us. There was also discussion to see if the motion included or a suggestion that the Lyons School should be sold to pay down the debt of the new school. I Town Council Meeting Minutes November 8, 2021 know that came up in discussion. That came up at that time. Councilor W. Alexopoulos - We can take a look at that.
