“Councilor W. Alexopoulos - Motion that the Town Council approve the creation of the position of Director of Library, Recreation and Community Programs as described in the information provided to the Council by the Town Manager and in the supporting documentation presented, seconded by Councilor Clerger. Councilor Huff-Larmond - I do not think this is for or against an individual and I am in support of the position but I would like to say that the duties of overseeing a library is different than overseeing a community center. Councilor Clifton - This is not about Liz. I have worked with Liz for many years and found her to be very professional. The question is if you have already employed someone why put out a vacancy that will mislead people to think they may have a chance. Feel I owe it to my constituents. Councilor Burgess - Trustee Minutes of 2/19/20 are also included in the supporting documentation that was presented. Roll-Call vote: Councilor Brewer - Yes Councilor Huff-Larmond - Yes Councilor C. Alexopoulos - Yes Councilor Egan - Yes Councilor Burgess - Yes Councilor W. “Councilor W. Alexopoulos - Move that we ratify the appointment of Liz Larosee to the Director of Library, Recreation and Community Programs position, seconded by Councilor Egan. Town Manager Howard - It was advertised because when it is a position and you are expanding on those duties and to be in compliance with the charter it was advertised. That is the only reason it was advertised. Felt the best thing to do to be in compliance with the charter was to advertise. Roll-call vote: 9-0-0.” (Motion: William Alexopoulos, second: Egan)
