Councilor Burgess - Move to grant a 24 hour license to Atlantic-Mazzeo Realty LLC for a 24 hour to operate a terminal with the condition that they comply with the order from the Planning Board with the roadway and Thomas Patten and coordinate traffic light improvements with the Town Engineer, signal timing.

From the minutes

“Councilor Burgess - Move to grant a 24 hour license to Atlantic-Mazzeo Realty LLC for a 24 hour to operate a terminal with the condition that they comply with the order from the Planning Board with the roadway and Thomas Patten and coordinate traffic light improvements with the Town Engineer, signal timing. Do not believe the guts have to be changed. Could be smart technology. Would be for your benefit. Joe Zink - I do not think there will need to be much done. Less volume than retail. Councilor McDermott - I second the motion. Councilor Burgess - Mr. Zink is an excellent corporate neighbor. Has maintained his properties, has kept his word with anything that has happened on Teed Drive. Have no concerns. Councilor Clerger - Any investors willing to come to town and offer jobs I think is great. Roll Vote on the motion to grant a 24 hour permit: 9-0-0.” (Motion: Burgess, second: McDermott)

Approve Council Order 2020-063

Minutes, page 23

Adopt orderPassed · 8–0

Councilor Egan - Motion to approve Council Order 2020-063.

Yes: Brewer, Christos Alexopoulos, Clerger, Clifton, Egan, Huff-Larmond, McDermott, William AlexopoulosThe minutes list James Burgess as absent for this vote.

From the minutes

“Councilor Egan - Motion to approve Council Order 2020-063. Councilor Clifton - I second the motion. Councilor Burgess - Why is this needed? Town Manager Howard - There was a warrant where you have to have a majority of signatures. Councilor Burgess - Only 3 councilors signed that warrant for a presidential election. Is there a reason why the councilors put us in this position. I doubt they will answer this. Let's tell the voters why this is front of us. Councilors failed to do their basic job. Town Manager Howard - I know there was a conversation with the term disenfranchisement. I take that serious and in this content I am uncomfortable with this term. That is when people take action to not allow people to take action for their votes to count. It could have been avoided. Councilor W. Alexopoulos - Motion has been made and 2nd. Vote on the motion to approve: 8-0-0 (Councilor Burgess did not vote)..” (Motion: Egan, second: Clifton)
