How the Nantucket Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 5 Select Board members elected townwide. On May 22, 2024 the board chose Brooke Mohr as Chair and Matt Fee as Vice Chair. Covers 79 meetings, May 22 to May 20, 2025.
A monthly email on what it voted on, starting in November.
What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

What Town Meeting decided
In Nantucket, Town Meeting — not the Select Board — votes the town budget, bylaws and zoning. Here is what it did with each article, in the Town Clerk’s own words. Any registered voter can take part, and most votes are by voice or show of hands, so there is no list of who voted which way.

Titles are short descriptions of each article from the official record; the quoted words are the Town Clerk’s. A vote at Town Meeting is not the final word on everything: some articles also need a ballot vote (such as a tax override) or the Attorney General’s approval (bylaws).
"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.

About missing minutes
Loaded: Select Board minutes from January 6, 2021 through September 23, 2026, as posted on the town’s CivicClerk portal (the board also meets as the County Commissioners; those minutes are included). Older minutes back to 2012 are online but not loaded yet. Sub-committee meetings are not included. Most votes give the mover, the seconder and either “all in favor, so voted”, a count such as “so voted 4-1” with the members opposed named, or a roll call by name. “All in favor” votes show every member present as voting yes. Members who recused or had left the room are left out of that vote. Votes recorded only as “so voted” with no count show the result only; counts that do not match the members present show the count only. Votes taken by paper ballot for committee appointments are not listed. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
The minutes give the count (4-0), which does not match the 5 members listed present, so individual votes are not shown.

“Mr. Dixon moved to approve the process as noted in the Board’s agenda packet with a minimum of two RVMs issued to an applicant with leeway to issue four RVMs to an applicant if the Board decides it makes sense and all criteria are met; seconded by Mr. Fee. Discussion followed among Board members on the number of RVMs to issue per applicant. Mr. Dixon amended his motion to limit the number of RVMs issues to an applicant to two; Mr. Fee agreed to the amended motion, but stated he will vote against the motion because he doesn’t feel it will attract peer-to-peer applicants.
