What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

What Town Meeting decided
In Nantucket, Town Meeting — not the Select Board — votes the town budget, bylaws and zoning. Here is what it did with each article, in the Town Clerk’s own words. Any registered voter can take part, and most votes are by voice or show of hands, so there is no list of who voted which way.

Titles are short descriptions of each article from the official record; the quoted words are the Town Clerk’s. A vote at Town Meeting is not the final word on everything: some articles also need a ballot vote (such as a tax override) or the Attorney General’s approval (bylaws).
"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.

About missing minutes
Loaded: Select Board minutes from January 6, 2021 through September 23, 2026, as posted on the town’s CivicClerk portal (the board also meets as the County Commissioners; those minutes are included). Older minutes back to 2012 are online but not loaded yet. Sub-committee meetings are not included. Most votes give the mover, the seconder and either “all in favor, so voted”, a count such as “so voted 4-1” with the members opposed named, or a roll call by name. “All in favor” votes show every member present as voting yes. Members who recused or had left the room are left out of that vote. Votes recorded only as “so voted” with no count show the result only; counts that do not match the members present show the count only. Votes taken by paper ballot for committee appointments are not listed. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.

Amend the sewer fee waiver policy as presented in the Board’s agenda materials, subject to final approval by Town Counsel
Yes: Bridges, Mohr, MurphyNo: Fee
From the minutes
“Ms. Mohr moved to amend the sewer fee waiver policy as presented in the Board’s agenda materials, subject to final approval by Town Counsel; seconded by Ms. Murphy. Mr. Fee expressed concern about amending the policy, in such a specific manner, written for a particular situation. Mr. Gray said that Mr. Fee recently asked about costs to upgrade the Naushop pump station, necessary in order to serve the Richmond development and noted the project went out to bid and the low bid is approximately $2,000,000 which is significantly higher than earlier estimates. Ms. Mohr said that the project requires certain contributions in order to be built. So voted Chair Bridges – Yes; Mr. Fee – No; Ms. Mohr – Yes; Ms. Murphy – Yes. 3.” (Motion: Mohr, second: Murphy)
“Ms. Mohr moved approval of the full request; seconded by Ms. Murphy. Ms. Murphy commented that she understands what Mr. Turbitt was saying and would be perhaps more comfortable with a waiver of more than 50% but less than a full waiver. Ms. Mohr suggested a percentage, and that there be a 75% reduction in the fees that led to the $474,925 number which covers Phases II, III, IV, V, VI for Meadows II Apartments; so moved by Ms. Mohr; seconded by Ms. Murphy. Some discussion followed. Mr. Fee expressed discomfort at how the waiver is being handled. Ms. Murphy said that going forward more financial analysis would be helpful. Mr. Fee spoke further on his concern. So voted Chair Bridges – Yes; Mr. Fee – No; Ms. Mohr – Yes; Ms. Murphy – Yes. 4.” (Motion: Mohr, second: Murphy)
