How the Medway Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 5 Select Board members elected townwide. Same five members after the May 19, 2026 town election. On June 1, 2026 the board chose Dennis Crowley as Chair, Maryjane White as Vice-Chair and Frank Rossi as Clerk. Covers 7 meetings so far, June 1 to September 8, 2026.

What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

Loaded: Select Board minutes (called the Board of Selectmen until early 2021) from January 2, 2018 through September 8, 2026. Minutes from 2024 on come from the town’s meetings page, one file per meeting; minutes from 2018 to 2023 come from the town’s meetings archive, which posts each year’s agendas and minutes as one zip file (the archive goes back to 1964), so for those years the minutes link opens that year’s zip file. Not here: minutes after September 8, 2026 (September 21 and October 5, 2026 are not posted yet); about 35 dates from 2018 to 2023 that have an agenda in the archive but no minutes (some may have been cancelled or held at Town Meeting); April 24, May 1, July 1, October 24 and November 11, 2024; March 12, April 12 and April 22, 2025 (sessions at other boards’ meetings, a legislative breakfast and a hearing listed on the meetings page without minutes); and November 18, 2024, where the meetings page posts the agenda in place of the minutes. Joint meetings with other boards are included, but only the Select Board’s own votes. Medway’s minutes are typed and give the mover, the seconder and a three-number count for almost every vote (“VOTE: 5-0-0”); split votes usually name the members who voted no or abstained (“VOTE: 4-1-0. Mr. Crowley voted against.”), and remote meetings in 2020 and 2021 and executive-session votes use roll calls listing each member. The minutes do not always write the count in the same order, so we follow the names, not the order of the numbers. When the count matches the members present with no one named as voting no, we show every member present as voting yes; when the minutes name the members who voted no or abstained and the count adds up, we show everyone else present as voting yes. Members who arrived late, left early or recused are left out of the votes they missed when the minutes or the count show it. Where the minutes give a split count without names, a roll call leaves out a member who was there or names one the attendance line does not show, or the count does not match the members present, we show the count only and add a note. Motions written down with no vote after them (most were withdrawn or replaced by an amended motion that was voted on) are not included, since the minutes do not say how they came out. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
