How the Norfolk Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 3 Select Board members elected townwide for three-year terms. After the May 5, 2026 town election (Anita Mecklenburg re-elected), the board put off its reorganization on May 13 because Ms. Mecklenburg was away; the town website lists Kevin Roche as Chair, Taiese Hickman as Vice Chair and Ms. Mecklenburg as Clerk. The minutes of the reorganization meeting are not online (the May 18, 2026 link opens the May 28 minutes). Minutes after July 13, 2026 are not posted yet. The end date (May 2027) is a placeholder. Covers 6 meetings so far, May 6 to July 13, 2026.

What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

Loaded: Norfolk Select Board minutes from January 4, 2022 through July 13, 2026, including community forums, pre-Town Meeting sessions and one joint meeting with the School Committee (only the Select Board members’ votes are shown). These come from the Town Clerk’s minutes page, which holds the board’s minutes from January 2022 on. Not here: minutes before 2022 (not online); March 1 and April 5, 2022 (the posted files are empty); May 18, 2026 (its link opens the May 28 minutes); several forums, a March 7, 2026 joint meeting with the Advisory Committee and other sessions that have a video but no minutes; and meetings after July 13, 2026 (August 7, August 17, September 2, September 14 and September 28, 2026 minutes are not posted yet). Most minutes from March 2022 to January 2026 are scanned images, which MassVoter read with text recognition and checked by hand. Norfolk’s minutes name the mover and seconder and usually say “all were in favor” or list a roll call (“Mr. Roche - aye, Ms. Hickman - aye, Ms. Mecklenburg - aye”), so each member present is shown voting yes; the few split votes and abstentions are named in the minutes. From July 2022 to February 2023 the board had two members after a resignation. Members who arrived late, stepped aside or did not take part are not shown as voting, with a note. Eleven motions with no vote recorded are not shown. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
