What does the Board of Selectmen do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Board of Selectmen, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

In Freetown, Town Meeting — not the Board of Selectmen — votes the town budget, bylaws and zoning. Freetown has not posted official results of its 2024–2026 Town Meetings online, so they are not here yet. We will add them when the Town Clerk’s records are available.
What we checked: No official Town Meeting results are posted for Freetown for 2024-2026: the Town Clerk's "Article/Vote Summaries" page stops at 2020 and the FY2024 and FY2025 Annual Town Reports list the meetings but not the votes, so the June 3, 2024 Annual and Special, October 21, 2024 Special, February 24, 2025 Special, June 2, 2025 Annual and Special, July 28, 2025 Special, January 26, 2026 Special and June 1, 2026 Annual and Special Town Meetings are not here yet.

Not here yet: the town has posted Board of Selectmen minutes online only from January 2025. The minutes are scanned documents; we read them with text recognition. Most votes are named roll calls. Where a roll call does not list every Selectman present, the vote is noted and individual votes are not shown. Votes by other boards at joint meetings are not included. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
