How the Lincoln Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 3 Select Board members elected townwide for three-year terms. Kim Bodnar joined the board after the March 2023 town election (first meeting April 3, 2023, which Jennifer Glass chaired). On April 24, 2023, following the board’s practice of rotating the Chair after Town Meeting, the board unanimously chose Jim Hutchinson as Chair by roll call. Covers 23 meetings, April 3 to March 23, 2024.
A monthly email on what it voted on, starting in November.
What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.

"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.
Loaded: Lincoln Select Board minutes from January 9, 2018 through September 21, 2026: 202 meetings and 1,438 votes. The board was called the Board of Selectmen until 2021; Article 24 of the May 15, 2021 Annual Town Meeting (a citizens’ petition) proposed the name Select Board, and the minutes use it from May 24, 2021 on. The town’s Agenda Center holds the board’s minutes back to 2013; MassVoter has loaded 2018 on. All minutes are typed documents with searchable text. Joint sessions with other boards (School Committee, Housing Commission, Board of Assessors, Water Commission, Planning Board, the Housing Choice Act Working Group and others) are included, but only the Select Board members’ votes are shown; votes the other board took on its own, and reports of other boards’ votes, are left out. Not here: votes taken inside executive session; the minutes of Town Meeting and State of the Town meetings; meetings with an agenda but no posted minutes (among them December 15, 2025, January 22, February 18, April 17, May 7, May 14 and June 18, 2026); and meetings after September 21, 2026 (the September 28, October 1 and October 5, 2026 minutes are not posted yet). Since spring 2020 Lincoln’s minutes record nearly every vote as a roll call by name (“the motion was approved unanimously with a roll call vote: Bodnar, Aye; Glass, Aye; Hutchinson, Aye”), and each member’s vote is shown as recorded. Before that, the minutes usually say “It was unanimously approved,” which is shown as every member present voting yes; when a member abstained or voted no, the minutes name that member. Where the minutes say only “the motion was approved” with no count or names, we show the result only (15 votes); where a split count names no one, or a roll call does not match the members present, we show the count only, with a note (2 votes). When a roll call leaves out a member who was at the meeting, the votes named are shown and that member is left out of the vote, with a note. Members who stepped aside (recused) are not shown as voting. Abstentions are shown as abstained. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
