How the East Bridgewater Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 3 Select Board members elected townwide. Same three members. On May 23, 2023 the board chose Carole Julius as Chair, David Sheedy as Vice Chair and Peter Spagone Jr. as Clerk. Covers 27 meetings, May 23 to May 6, 2024.
A monthly email on what it voted on, starting in November.
What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.
Under the state Open Meeting Law, boards post notice at least 48 hours ahead, not counting weekends and legal holidays.
What Town Meeting decided
In East Bridgewater, Town Meeting — not the Select Board — votes the town budget, bylaws and zoning. Here is what it did with each article, in the Town Clerk’s own words. Any registered voter can take part, and most votes are by voice or show of hands, so there is no list of who voted which way.
Special Town Meeting · November 10, 2025 1 votes: 1 passed
Art. 21Ask the Legislature for two more all-alcohol and two more wine/malt package store licenses (amended from four)Passed as amended“the Moderator declared Article 21 passed”
Not here yet: the May 11, 2026 Annual and Special Town Meetings and the October 7, 2026 Special Town Meeting (only warrants and agendas are posted; results should appear in the 2026 Annual Town Report).
Titles are short descriptions of each article from the official record; the quoted words are the Town Clerk’s. A vote at Town Meeting is not the final word on everything: some articles also need a ballot vote (such as a tax override) or the Attorney General’s approval (bylaws).
"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.

About missing minutes
Loaded: every Select Board (Board of Selectmen) meeting with minutes on the town website from January 2018 through September 3, 2026 (2018 to 2024 from the town's Document Center, 2025 on from its Agenda Center). Not here: minutes before 2018, executive-session minutes, Board of Water Commissioners minutes, and minutes the town has not posted yet (every meeting after September 3, 2026). Most minutes from 2018 to 2021 are scanned paper copies, which we read by computer text recognition. The minutes usually give the mover, the seconder and the result in one line ("All were in favor 3-0", or "Vote 3-0-0" in 2019). When the minutes say all were in favor, or give a count equal to the members present with no one opposed or abstaining, we show every member present as voting yes. When a split count names who voted no or abstained and the numbers add up, we show each member's vote; when a split count does not say who voted which way, or the count and the members present do not match, we show the count only and add a note. Motions the minutes record with no vote at all are not included. Votes by other boards at joint meetings are not included. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.

To deny the request from resident Christne Beall for the use of Town Hall Parking Lot, Town Common and Sachem Rock Farm for a dog scent training during off hours when buildings are closed. Training consists of hiding odor contained hides on benches, tables, rock crevices, etc. The leashed dog will take approximately 5-10 minutes to search. There is no specific dates, just when schedule allows.
The minutes say "All were in favor" but give the count as 0-3, so we show the result only and do not show how members voted.
