To approve and send the letters presented before the Select Board to both DEP and the Governor.
“MOTION: To approve and send the letters presented before the Select Board to both DEP and the Governor. Motion by: Tracy Post Seconded by: Joyce Flynn Discussion: The Town Administrator confirmed that a typographical error in the letters had been corrected. Select Board Members Post and Argo agreed the letters were well-written but felt they could be stronger to reflect the critical nature of the issue. Ms. Post emphasized that the state changing rules mid-implementation, undermined prior presentations to voters and created uncertainty for residents. Select Board Member Forest stressed the importance of a Cape-wide advocacy effort to remove the proposed caps and restrictions. Both Mr. Forest and Ms. Post underscored that more funding, not less, was essential in addressing Cape Cod's clean water needs. Members noted that awareness of the proposal only surfaced during February vacation, adding urgency to the March 3 submission deadline. The Board members expressed strong support for sending the letters and emphasized the need to escalate advocacy, including coordinating with county commissioners, town managers, and other Cape Cod officials. Vote: 5 ayes; 0 nays. The motion carried unanimously..” (Motion: Post, second: Flynn)
