From the minutes

“MOTION: To adopt the budget cuts outlined in Items A through D for now, and if the Board finds that it needs to adjust at some point, it certainly can. Motion by: Erik Tolley Seconded by: Norm Holcomb Discussion: Selectman Holcomb suggested discussing the Golf Enterprise Funds and proposed wastewater infrastructure work on the golf courses sooner rather than later. Mr. Bienvenue said that there would be a warrant article requesting to move forward with wastewater design in Route 28 construction money. He agreed that course down time would be an appropriate time to begin discussions on needs for the wastewater recharge site. Selectman Post said that, if she was expected to vote now, she would want answers to her questions regarding various items on the list, such as Police reduction of overtime. Mr. Bienvenue apologized for not being prepared to discuss the various items in detail. He suggested putting freezes on items. Mr. Senteio added that the Fall Town Meeting added a mechanism to address anything that might be removed. Mr. Knapik said that the key would be the revenue projection. There appeared to be no tax generation occurring, and although permitting was active, it was only 2/3 of what normally took place this time of year. Per the Lt. Governor's call earlier in the day, opening on the 18th would not ensure that things would magically improve. There was going to be a slow, deliberate rollout, linked to the testing date from the decline in hospitalizations and the decline in positive COVID testing. Roll Call Vote: Norm Holcomb, aye; Erik Tolley, aye; Mark Forest, aye; Michael Stone, aye; Tracy Post, nay. The motion passed by a vote 4-1..” (Motion: Tolley, second: Holcomb)
