How these numbers work
  • Counted from the official minutes, for 2021–2022 Board only. Committee meetings and routine votes (adjourning, approving minutes) are not counted.
  • Attendance counts the meetings where the minutes list Reault as present or absent at the start.
  • Only votes the minutes record member by member are counted. Voice votes and votes given only as a count (for example 6-3 with no names) are not.
  • Percentages are shown only when there are at least 10 meetings or votes to count.
  • A split vote is one where at least one member voted yes and another voted no. “In the minority” means on the side with fewer votes; ties are not counted.
  • “Whole board” combines every member’s record for the same term.

These numbers describe the record; they are not a grade. A no vote, an abstention or a minority vote is neither good nor bad. MassVoter never rates officials.

March 28, 2022: Tri-Board policy: $1,000,000 yearly general fund contribution to the Middle School construction debt payments, with new growth set aside over 10 years

Adopt orderPassed · Unanimous, 4 present

Selectman Eldridge moves that the Tri-Board establish the following policy: in order to minimize the burden to the taxpayers, the recommended general fund contribution to the Middle School construction debt payments shall be $1,000,000.00 per year for the duration of the debt payments, and further that the Tri-Board will work collaboratively to recommend a budget to Town Meeting that sets aside portions of new growth from major one-time economic development projects to meet this goal over a 10-year period; Selectman Reault seconds; Discussion: Finance Committee Member Chris Mellen asks if Mr. Hanson has any idea what the Town would have been charged in interest at the conclusion of the debt payments. Selectman Wennerstrom responds the Town could probably calculate an average, but until the money is borrowed, they will not know exactly. Mr. Hanson adds that he is anticipating a 4% interest rate on the money that is borrowed. Mr. Mellen states as long as the bond rating remains high, he is in support. The Board of Selectmen motion passes 4-0-0
