Selectman Eldridge moves that the Tri-Board establish the following policy: in order to minimize the burden to the taxpayers, the recommended general fund contribution to the Middle School construction debt payments shall be $1,000,000.00 per year for the duration of the debt payments, and further that the Tri-Board will work collaboratively to recommend a budget to Town Meeting that sets aside portions of new growth from major one-time economic development projects to meet this goal over a 10-year period; Selectman Reault seconds; Discussion: Finance Committee Member Chris Mellen asks if Mr. Hanson has any idea what the Town would have been charged in interest at the conclusion of the debt payments. Selectman Wennerstrom responds the Town could probably calculate an average, but until the money is borrowed, they will not know exactly.
