Motion presented by Councillor Serino: That the City Council send the attached letter to Governor Baker requesting that his administration identify and designate a COVID-19 vaccination site or sites in the City of Revere for vaccinations of the public at-large. A Boston Globe article published this past weekend highlighted disparities in vaccine access to Black and Latino populations of Suffolk County. In addition to being a community with a large immigrant population, Revere has been one of the hardest hit communities in the Commonwealth throughout the pandemic, and as of right now the only two mass vaccination sites in Suffolk County are in South Boston and Fenway Park. Revere residents should not have to travel into Boston to receive the COVID vaccination, particularly when more affluent communities in the Metro West have vaccination sites on their doorsteps.
