Motion presented by Councillor McKenna: That the Mayor be requested to request an appropriation from the Community Improvement Trust Fund in the amount of $5,180 to complete the filing of a floodplain map revision request with FEMA for the Roughans Point area. This would provide the monies necessary to complete the contract with the Woods Hole Group to file a floodplain map revision request with FEMA for the Roughans Point area. There are a number of homeowners in that area that are paying exorbitant flood insurance rates because FEMA has them located in a high velocity flood zone. The City is petitioning FEMA to revise the flood zone maps in that area which will remove these homes from the high velocity flood zone. In order to complete the filing of this request with FEMA, the City needs to sign a contract amendment with the Woods Hole Group.

Motion presented by Councillor Giannino, Councillor McKenna: That the Mayor, as the chair of the Revere School Committee, be requested to request the Revere Public Schools to immediately reinstate the three educators who were punished for union activity. On June 5, 2020, three City of Revere staff members at the A. C. Whelan school had their contracts non-renewed as retaliation for their union activity. They were punished for standing up for the rights of teachers and students in the 2019-2020 school year. We call on you and the Revere Public Schools to immediately reinstate these three educators.
