Ideas for a successful city wide trash program could include: 1.Send home flyers with students from the schools. 2. Make this outreach effort a project at the High School that students can get involved in as an official club/project for their resumes and college applications. The students know all the languages and can be interpreters. They could have the videos on their phones and they could be "captains" all over the city. They could also receive community service hours for their involvement 3. Have a banner announcing the outreach campaign stretching high across Broadway. 4. Motion presented by Councillor Morabito: That the City Council approve the following Resolution to be forwarded to Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, Senator Joseph Boncore, and Representative RoseLee Vincent for consideration: Resolution This Resolution expresses advocacy for Revere commuters who utilize public transportation on a daily basis. The City Council on behalf of its residents request that Revere residents receive their fair share by receiving a group discounted rate for MBTA train fares. The City of Revere is burdened each day by thousands of vehicles inundating our city. Vehicles pass through Revere traveling to and from Boston every day. The City has three MBTA stations and is tremendously impacted by regional traffic. Due to the regional traffic traveling through Revere and the direct correlation to the increase in motor vehicle accidents, Revere residents are left with the burden of higher car insurance rates. Revere is doing its part by promoting public transportation through transit oriented development and in turn, Revere residents who use public transportation should receive a discount.

Motion presented by Council Vice-President McKenna: That the Mayor request the DPW in conjunction with Parking Control to arrange for street sweeping on the even side of Beachmont to be completed the first week in December. Unfortunately due the rain on Tuesday, November 20th, and the amount of leaves in the gutter, the sweeper was barely able to complete the route, leaving mostly all of Beachmont not swept.
