Motion presented by Councillor Rotondo: That the City of Revere operate a Homeland rapid response team: The team would be tasked to assist the Local, State and Federal agencies as well as stand alone capacity in the event of Natural disaster , Terrorism, Fire or any other form of disaster. The goal would be to act as a cross between Red Cross and Rescue team. In that the team would comprise of local Volunteers who would respond to Fire and help people with immoderate housing at The High School or other shelter. Setting up Cots, providing food and working with American Rd Cross once they are on scene. An additional aspect would be to have volunteer work at the medical tent during the stand castle festival . Nurses, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist and linguist to help with people who get injured or need help. Currently thier is limited advance life support assets at an event that is now ranking as a national event. Lastly I would be happy to organize and assemble such a group and have them directly report to the Fire Chief, Director of the Board of Health and Mayor.
