Councilor Burgess - Some search committees across the Commonwealth, senior managers sit in and review resumes, bring insight. Finance person could ask finance questions. Not uncommon. Councilor Goldstein - We didn't want to use our HR person because they could be doing something with their potential boss, do we really want to perceive a conflict. Councilor W. Alexopoulos - The school department does that with their superintendent search. In my business when there is a job opening I have members of my staff sit in on those discussions to voice their opinions as well. See it as a benefit, we may not all have the expertise. Councilor Huff-Larmond - Agree we should bring department heads together to discuss what is needed in a town manager but do not agree they should be part of the screening committee.
