Approve the FY26 year-end budget transfers as presented in the Select Board packet

Minutes, page 7

ApprovePassed · Unanimous, 5 present

To approve the FY26 year-end budget transfers as presented in the Select Board packet

From the minutes

“Mr. Herman moved to approve the FY26 year-end budget transfers as presented in the Select Board packet, : seconded by Ms. Wright. During discussion, staff explained that the proposed transfer of approximately $82,000 from the Fire Department's expense budget to salaries was necessary because the Department's collective bargaining agreement was ratified after the FY26 budget had been prepared. The Board also discussed the proposed $80,000 transfer to establish first-year funding for the Police Department's body- worn camera program. It was noted that the Police Chief would provide a future public presentation regarding implementation of the program. Staff further explained that year-end budget transfers allow unused departmental appropriations to be redirected to cover unanticipated expenses, avoiding the need to seek additional appropriation from Free Cash at a future Town Meeting. Vote: The motion carried unanimously (5-0-0) to approve the FY26 year-end budget transfers as presented..” (Motion: Herman, second: Wright)
