How the Lakeville Select Board voted, from the Select Board’s official minutes. 5 Select Board members elected townwide. Three-member Board of Selectmen: Aaron Burke (Chair), Miriam "Mitzi" Hollenbeck and John Powderly. Only two meetings from this year can be read on the town website (September 14 and November 13, 2018); the town's files for the other 39 meetings from 2018 are broken and will not open. Covers 2 meetings, September 14 to November 13, 2018.
A monthly email on what it voted on, starting in November.
What does the Select Board do? It is the town’s executive board. It prepares the Town Meeting warrant (the list of articles voters decide), appoints members of many town boards, hires the town’s top staff, signs warrants to pay town bills, and grants licenses and permits.
Town Meeting, not the Select Board, votes the town budget and town bylaws.
Under the state Open Meeting Law, boards post notice at least 48 hours ahead, not counting weekends and legal holidays.
What Town Meeting decided
In Lakeville, Town Meeting — not the Select Board — votes the town budget, bylaws and zoning. Here is what it did with each article, in the Town Clerk’s own words. Any registered voter can take part, and most votes are by voice or show of hands, so there is no list of who voted which way.

Titles are short descriptions of each article from the official record; the quoted words are the Town Clerk’s. A vote at Town Meeting is not the final word on everything: some articles also need a ballot vote (such as a tax override) or the Attorney General’s approval (bylaws).
"At X of Y meetings" counts the members the minutes list as present at the start of each meeting in this record. Members who step out are listed on each meeting page.

About missing minutes
Loaded: every Select Board meeting with minutes on the town website from January 2025 through April 7, 2026 (from the town’s Agenda Center), plus 17 older meetings from 2018 to 2024 (from the town’s Document Center). Not here: most minutes from 2018 to 2024 (the town’s Document Center lists about 260 of them, but almost all of those files are broken and will not open), executive-session minutes, and minutes the town has not posted yet: every meeting after April 7, 2026. Until April 2024 the board (called the Board of Selectmen until late 2021) had three members; it has had five since then. Lakeville’s minutes are typed (a few 2024-2025 files are scans, which we read by computer text recognition) and list the mover, the seconder and the result for each motion; since mid-2025 almost every vote is a roll call (each member’s yes or no by name). When the minutes say a vote was unanimous we show every member present as voting yes; when they give a roll call, or a count with the members who voted no or abstained named, we show each member’s vote as recorded. Where the minutes give only a count (for example 3-1) without names, or a roll call names a member the minutes list as absent or names a member twice, or the names and the count do not match, we show the count only and add a note. A few votes have no result written down; we show those as passed with no count. Members who had not yet arrived or had left are left out of that vote. Votes by other boards at joint meetings (Finance Committee, School Committee, Board of Assessors, Freetown Board of Selectmen) are not included; where the Select Board voted together with another board (for example to fill a School Committee vacancy), only the Select Board members’ votes are shown. We will ask the town to confirm any noted vote.
Most board votes are unanimous. These are the ones where at least one member voted no or abstained, newest first.
