ApprovePassed · Unanimous, 4 present

To approve the Consent Agenda as presented

From the minutes

“Mr. Piekarski moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Seconded by Mr. Howell. Mr. Howell noted that the packet contains the Minutes from the Interview Committee meeting for the Harwich Accessibility Rights Committee. They are not making a recommendation, not because of the candidate but he and Mr. MacAskill would like to wait until Ms. Eldredge returns as she is the ADA Officer. If she finds that the revised Charge is in accordance with her duties, they will move forward. Mr. Powers commented that it is his understanding that there is a letter that the Board is going to sign regarding that. Mr. Howell replied that he had a conversation with Mr. MacAskill and they were waiting for Ms. Eldredge to return. Mr. Powers noted that there was a letter going around regarding a person that put in for the Committee but there was no appointment pending the Charge update. Mr. Howell was unaware of the letter but commented that it would be fine to send it. He didn't want the message to be that they were turning her down. Vote: 4:0 in favor. Motion carried.” (Motion: Piekarski, second: Howell)

Minutes, page 16

AppointPassed · Unanimous, 4 present

To vote to approve the appointment of Eric A. Kinsherf as the Interim Finance Director and Town Accountant effective September 4, 2024

From the minutes

“Mr. Piekarski moved to vote to approve the appointment of Eric A. Kinsherf as the Interim Finance Director and Town Accountant effective September 4, 2024. Seconded by Mr. Howell. Mr. Piekarski noted that he suggested adding a #4 to Article 5 which is the contract termination, explaining what he would add to clarify termination if a new Finance Director is hired. Mr. Powers clarified that it is a 30B contract, they are hiring a vendor to do a service. The employment agreement would be separate and he explained that process. The incumbent understands that the moment the Town has a Finance Director/Town Accountant under agreement, his contract is gone. Mr. Howell noted that the contract has a termination for convenience clause. Vote: 4:0 in favor. Motion carried.” (Motion: Piekarski, second: Howell)
