What it means
This local bill lets the state transfer several small parcels of Department of Conservation and Recreation watershed land in Southborough, totaling about 2,679 square feet, to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for highway use. The Transportation Department must pay full market value or value in use, whichever is greater, or give the state land or money for land of equal or greater value to be kept for watershed protection, conservation and recreation. It must also pay all costs of the transfer, and the appraisal must be reviewed by the Inspector General.
