What it means
Lets the state grant the town of New Salem an easement over two parcels of state forest and Quabbin water supply land for utility poles and overhead wires, with no herbicides allowed in the easement area. In return, the town must give the state land or money worth at least the easement's appraised value, as set by an independent appraisal reviewed by the Inspector General. The easement ends if it is used for anything else, and the town pays all transaction costs.
