What it means
This Senate bill protects the privacy of critical incident stress management and crisis intervention services given to emergency workers after a traumatic event. Members of designated critical incident stress management teams, and the police, firefighters, dispatchers, emergency medical workers and others they help, cannot be required to testify about what was shared during these services, and the information must be kept confidential. Exceptions apply when there is reason to believe someone is in danger of serious harm or death, a child is at risk of abuse or neglect, or a crime or intentional wrong that can still be prosecuted or sued over has occurred.
