It raises extra pay for legislative leadership posts, for example from $35,000 to $80,000 for the Senate President and House Speaker, from $25,000 to $65,000 for the Ways and Means chairs, and from $22,500 to $60,000 for party floor leaders, sets extra pay for other leadership posts, and sets a yearly expense allowance of $15,000 for members living within 50 miles of the State House and $20,000 for those farther away. It sets salaries of $185,000 for the Governor (plus $65,000 a year for housing), $175,000 for the Treasurer and Attorney General, and $165,000 for the Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and Auditor, with pay adjusted every 2 years to wage changes, and bars the Governor, these officials, the Senate President and the House Speaker from receiving earned income from other sources (passive income is allowed).
