What it means

Lets the state's capital asset management commissioner grant Boston Gas Company a permanent easement on state park land at the Chestnut Hill Reservation in Brighton, for a natural gas main and regulator station. The company pays the appraised fair market value or value in use, whichever is greater, into the state Conservation Trust, with inspector general review, and must also improve a parking area, carry out a landscape plan, and pay $25,000 into a new Chestnut Hill Reservation Improvement Fund. The easement returns to the state if no longer used for this purpose. The improvement fund is repealed on December 31, 2020; passed as an emergency law.
