What it means

Changes the rules for disability parking plates and placards. It sets a $50 fine for hiding a placard's number or expiration date, lets the Registry of Motor Vehicles demand documents to verify applications, investigate and revoke falsely obtained placards, and makes applications subject to penalties of perjury, with fines of $500 for a first false statement and $1,000 for later ones. It also counts using a deceased person's placard as misuse, sets a $100 fine for not returning a revoked placard, and orders a Registry study of faster placard processing with a report due February 1, 2018.
