J. Hickey moved to accept the resignation of Robert McLaughlin from the Dedham Westwood Water Commission effective immediately.
“J. Hickey moved to accept the resignation of Robert McLaughlin from the Dedham Westwood Water Commission effective immediately. N. Hyde seconded. Unanimous Vote: 3-0 OPEB Liability Task Force The OPEB Liability Task Force met on June 1st and respectfully requested that the Board of Selectmen deactivate this committee and not reappoint the members. It feels it has been very successful in the past six years in getting the Town on solid ground with addressing the issue. OPEB is now a routine financial item and addressed annually in the budget process. Should a need arise in the future for the Task Force; its members have indicated that they are happy to return and reactivate. Islington Center Task Force As the Board is aware, the articles for the Islington Center Project passed at Town Meeting. For the past two years, the Selectmen have received reports and recommendations from the Task Force on this project. This past year, the Task Force began focusing on the remaining parcels within the center and indicated its membership should continue. N. Hyde asked if the Islington Center Task Force would move forward since Town Meeting voted in favor of the redevelopment? M. Jaillet answered yes, there is still a lot of land and the Task Force work would still be relevant. C. McCarthy added that make up of the Task Force may be a little different now that Town Meeting is over, but that information would be brought to the Board at a later date. Board of Selectmen Representation Appointments The Board appointed its member to serve on a number of committees in Town as the Selectmen representative. The Board discussed who will serve on the following: Aid to the Elderly and Infirm, Nancy Hyde Housing Partnership Fair Housing Committee, John Hickey Islington Center Task Force, Michael Walsh Lien Process Board, John Hickey Long Range Financial Planning Committee, Michael Walsh Town Facilities Task Force, Nancy Hyde Norfolk County Selectmen's Association, Michael W.” (Motion: Hickey, second: Hyde)
