Make the following finding that the Town of Stoughton, MA herein referred to as "the Town" has been approached with an offer to purchase land located at 15 Pleasant Street, Stoughton, MA currently
Mr. Sullivan moved to make the following finding that the Town of Stoughton, MA herein referred to as "the Town" has been approached with an offer to purchase land located at 15 Pleasant Street, Stoughton, MA currently owned by Invision Bank, F.K.A. Randolph Savings Bank. The offer of $650,000.00 will be contingent on the successful passage of a May annual Town Meeting vote and potential authorization to effectuate taking for title purposes. Stoughton assessor's lots 054325, 054324 and 054323 comprise the parcel. The parcel is approximately 0.678 acres +/-, this particular parcel will be used to diversify the available parking in the center of Stoughton and provide a potential site for relocation of other Town uses, operations, partnerships and projects under consideration and negotiation by the Town. The Town feels that this is a uniquely advantageous opportunity due to the parcel's size, location and availability or both commercial space and parking. Furthermore, there are extremely limited and/or virtually no alternatives to this parcel within the Stoughton Center Mixed Used Overlay District that could provide this opportunity. Mr. Hill seconded the movement. Movement passed unanimously.
