Appoint the alternates - Roy Anderson, Jason Hayer, and Hillary Foglia, to full time members of the Conservation Commission

Minutes, page 5

AppointPassed · Unanimous, 5 present

To appoint the alternates - Roy Anderson, Jason Hayer, and Hillary Foglia, to full time members of the Conservation Commission.

From the minutes

“Mr. George moved to appoint the alternates - Roy Anderson, Jason Hayer, and Hillary Foglia, to full time members of the Conservation Commission. Mr. Sampson seconded. Mr. Hoctor asked if the Conservation Commission decides on square footage of buildings on the beach. Mr. Dunham said they do, but they go by local wetlands protection requirements and State regulations. Mr. Hoctor said so these three might be responsible for changing square footage regulations on the beach; is that correct? Mr. Sampson said that these people have been alternate members so have already participated in decision meeting. Mr. Hoctor wondered if they should be polled on their opinions before voting for them. He has been contacted by groups who have that as a major concern. If the Conservation Commission changes any rules, they would need to be voted at Town Meeting. Mr. Hoctor said he understood that the Conservation Commission is working on a change to the math formula for square footage coverage on houses on shoreline that would adversely affect any rebuild of houses; people are very upset because they believe they wouldn't have a chance to have a say. Mr. Dunham said any by-law would need to go to Town Meeting. He also said that the Cape Cod Commission has been working on proposed regulations for the whole Cape. Motion approved unanimously by roll call vote..” (Motion: George, second: Sampson)
