To file the report received and take no action at this time. In making the motion, Ms. Riley stated that based on the number of projects of greater need before the Town at this time, she could not support spending any funds on this project. If in the future, the Board would like to consider the project, the report will be available. Ms. Riley said, “Personally, if we were voting on the project tonight, I would not vote in favor. I think the four-corner intersection is one of our safest intersections in Town.” She added that she would question the findings in the report that indicate that the intersection needs improvements based on the number of accidents over a five-year period without considering the nature of the accidents, which she suspected would be minor. She added that she fails to see how traffic signals would improve the intersection but rather suspects it might make the intersection more dangerous since most drivers stop at the four-way intersection whereas drivers tend to rush through traffic signals. Mr. Collins seconded the motion to table

In making the motion, Ms. Riley stated that based on the number of projects of greater need before the Town at this time, she could not support spending any funds on this project. If in the future, the Board would like to consider the project, the report will be … agree with tabling the proposal indefinitely which would allow the Town to explore grant opportunities in the future to further subsidize the project. Mr. Pacheco also agreed that funds can be better spent on areas that are of greater priority. Vote: 3-0-0.” (Motion: Riley, second: Collins)
