Authorize the Town Administrator to work with the Police Chief to evaluate and report back to the Board. Mr. Collins said he would respectfully disagree and that he is speaking up for the parents he spoke to about this.

Minutes, page 1

ApprovePassed · Unanimous, 3 present

To authorize the Town Administrator to work with the Police Chief to evaluate and report back to the Board. Mr. Collins said he would respectfully disagree and that he is speaking up for the parents he spoke to about this. He asked, “How is having an SRO in the schools less time more beneficial? Officer Pacheco does a great job, and he has an awesome relationship with the kids, and this is not a criticism of him by any means. The question is why we don't have him in the building for an eight-hour day? We say we are short manpower, but then we take an officer off patrol to have a police presence at the school. The police presence should be the SRO.” Mr. Collins seconded the motion
