To approve Race Dates and Practice Dates for Capeway Rovers 2025 Season
“Upon motion made by Select Board Member B. Giovanoni and seconded by Select Board Member T. White. Town Manager J. McGrail stated the Fire Chief requested that Capeway Rovers argued against having Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance at the track for the races on record. McGrail believes the town does not have the authority to require it. They received a special permit from the Zoning Board to allow use of the track. One of the stipulations in the special permit is that the Select Board needs to approve annually the dates of the practices and the races. Therefore, the town is putting on record that we recommend ALS. Select Board B. Giovanoni asked Capeway Rovers to confirm whether or not there will be ALS based on the strong recommendation of the Fire Chief. D. Payne, Capeway Rovers stated this issue was reviewed last year and it is not in the Select Board authority to push it. Stated that Capeway has never had an ALS unit on site. Financial cost is the issue. However, there are medical people on site. The Board voted unanimously to approve Race Dates and Practice Dates for Capeway Rovers 2025 Season..” (Motion: Giovanoni, second: White)
