Approve Lease and Power Purchase Agreement for Roof-Mounted Solar on New Police Station

Minutes, page 10

ApprovePassed · Unanimous, 5 present

To approve Lease and Power Purchase Agreement for Roof-Mounted Solar on New Police Station

From the minutes

“Motion made by Selectman Richardson to approve Lease and Power Purchase Agreement for Roof-Mounted Solar on New Police Station. Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden. Selectman Weeden discussed concerns regarding how long-term rate structures respond to future changes in utility pricing and whether potential savings would be a?ected by market fluctuations. Catherine Laurent explained that such agreements typically lock in a fixed electricity rate over the term of the contract, providing predictable energy costs. She noted that without solar, the Town would continue purchasing electricity through existing supply arrangements, currently averaging approximately 24 cents per kilowatt hour. Under the proposed agreement, solar-generated electricity would be provided at an estimated rate of approximately 7 cents per kilowatt hour, resulting in overall cost savings for the Town. Vote: 5-0 Unanimous Roll Call Vote Selectman Cotton-yes Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes Selectman Richardson-yes Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes Selectman Weeden-yes.” (Motion: Richardson, second: Weeden)
