Appeal the Department of Public Utilities decision dismissing the Town's petition about National Grid's power lines into Hull (statement read into the minutes)

Minutes, page 3

ProceduralPassed · Unanimous, 4 present

To appeal the Department of Public Utilities decision dismissing the Town's petition about National Grid's power lines into Hull (statement read into the minutes)

From the minutes

“Motion Nesoff The Select Board and the Municipal Light Board met Monday evening in Executive Session to discuss the Town's Petition to the Department of Public Utilities to investigate the provision of electrical power and services lines operating by National Grid and to discuss legal strategy in response to their decision. As we know there have been power disruptions which have adversely affected the residents and businesses and it bears repeating that many of the lines and system were installed while Franklin Roosevelt was President of the United States. Our Special Counsel, Nicholos Skobo, Esq., discussed with us the decision by the DPU to dismiss the Town's petition on rather questionable grounds and strategy to seek relief. Among other issues the DPU claims it does not have jurisdiction to investigate the matter. After thoughtful discussion the Select Board and the Municipal Light Board voted to support the further appeal of this Decision and the taking of other appropriate actions. The Select Board will now vote on the motion: Move that the Town of Hull move to support further appeal of the DPU Decision dismissing the Town's petition and the taking of other appropriate actions. Second Taverna Vote Unanimous.” (Motion: Nesoff, second: Taverna)
