9. C0167-26 Ordinance/s/ Councilor Stephanie V. Smith, as President An ordinance amending Section 4.1 - Building Permit Fees of the Revised Ordinances the City of Everett Monica Lamboy, Chief Development Officer; Dave Palumbo, Building Commissioner; and Rich Connors, Wire Inspector appeared before the council. Ms. Lamboy explained that as part of the budget development process for FY27, they looked at fee schedules and revenue. She noted that building permit fees have not been updated in at least four and a half to five years, and electrical permits date back to 1998. She explained that while the administration has administrative authority to establish all fees, Mayor Van Campen wanted to bring all fees forward in a public setting for transparency. The proposal includes swapping out the electrical fees for a new schedule, creating a separate commercial fee, keeping residential one-to-three-unit fees unchanged, and proposing an increase for commercial and larger residential buildings. The administration stated the fees are in line with other similar communities. Council President Smith moved to accept the committee report.
