1. C©C0117-26 Public Hearing/s/ Councilor Stephanie V. Smith, as President A petition from National Grid requesting permission to install approximately 5' feet of 2-4" conduit from existing pole #972-0 to provide a permanent overhead to underground service.to private property at 19 Paris Street Jose Louis from National Grid, 170 Medford Street, Malden, appeared before the council. He explained that National Grid is requesting to install conduit about 5 feet from the existing pole to the property for a residential home with approximately 5 to 6 units. This is a customer-driven project. Jeffrey Parente, a resident, addressed the council. He stated that Paris Street has been in rough shape the entire time he's lived there. His concern was that if they're digging under the street, he would like to see the street back to at least the condition it's in now, hopefully better when they're done, as the street is like a roller coaster. Chair Matewsky acknowledged the concerns and noted that Paris Street is a minefield of potholes. He mentioned new construction is expected in the next year for Paris Street, Bailey, and Lower Lewis. Mr. Louis clarified that National Grid will not be touching the road. They are only going from the sidewalk to the property, about 5 feet. The item had one person speak at teh Public Hearing about the petition. MOTION: Favorable Action MOVER: Anthony DiPierro SECONDER: © Holly Garcia RESULT: Passed [7 TO 1] . Alcy Jabouin, Capone, DiPierro, Garcia, Matewsky,

Yes: Capone, DiPierro, Garcia, Jabouin, Matewsky, Nguyen, PietrantonioNo: RogersThe minutes list Michael Marchese, Stephanie Martins and Stephanie Smith as “away” for this vote.

ProceduralPassed · Voice vote, names not recorded

5. C0124-26 Petition/s/ Councilor Stephanie V. Smith, as President A petition requesting the renewal of an innholder's license for Encore Boston Harbor at 1 Broadway The clerk read the item. Councilor Martins suggested referring to either government operations or community development, noting that the council hasn't had updates from Encore in a while and previously when questions were asked, the administration would make them disappear. Councilor DiPierro asked the city clerk if there's any impact in delaying the renewal on their current license status. Clerk Cornelio explained that Encore will continue to operate. He noted this item was actually from a few months ago and there was some confusion with back taxes and the post community agreement, but that has been cleared up and their paperwork is in order. Item postponed to the next council meeting and invite Encore to answer previous questions that have been sent by multiple councilors.
