Marchese, as President A resolution requesting authorization for the Superintendent of Schools to submit a Statement of Interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority expressing interest in building a new high school with the intent being to eliminate/prevent current and future overcrowding in the Everett Public Schools. The Everett School Committee approved this request at their meeting of March 6, 2023. The Superintendent answered questions about the statement of interest stating that if the state approves this funding it would be 8-10 years before we would have a new High School. They are still looking for solutions to the lower grades and that they are not sure if they can or should add the Pope John building in the MSBA document, the Superintendent was waiting on guidance before adding it into the MSBA request.
