Councilors asked what was the reason the school was sold in the first place and why would we lease instead of buying the property, as many of the Councilors were not serving at the time the building was sold. The schools stated they really need the property that house over 50 students with disabilities. The Council agreed that the school issue needs to be addressed and requested that the Mayor's office look into this asap as the owner of the property is looking for an answer on what the city would like to do prior to the lease ending date, if the city will continue to lease or ask for a price to purchase the property.
