Yes: Adams, Eckman, Knight, McDonaldNo: Demetri
“Aimée Eckman made a motion to move not to grant a residential exemption John Knight seconded the motion Discussion points: - The comment that part-time taxpayers do not use services as much as full time taxpayers. The statement cannot be considered a factual statement but rather an opinion. The Board asked for more quantitative data. Jacqui Beebe noted that the school is 36% of the budget and non-residents do not use the schools. - Information regarding the split of property assessments. Properties under $350,000 are decreasing and properties over $1,000,000 are increasing. This would support a residential exemption and the Board would ask that the Board of Assessors review this closely for FY20. - Personal property tax is added to part-time taxpayers and is 1.5% for houses and 1% for condominiums. VOTE: Yes 4, No 1 (Jamie Rivers).” (Motion: Eckman, second: Knight)
