Glen Cabbage, 2484 Pleasant Street, thought that the residents were stretched beyond the limits with regard to taxes
“Selectman Pacheco motioned that this item be placed on the next agenda, Selectman Mell seconded and it was VOTED. Glen Cabbage, 2484 Pleasant Street, thought that the residents were stretched beyond the limits with regard to taxes. He said he found out that his taxes are not even accurate. He needed to know that we are not going to just keep changing the language in order to get the tax increase. He wanted to know that people will understand that this will result in a tax increase. Selectman Pacheco said while we can't change the language, we can provide context on What a "yes" or "no" vote would Mean. Chairman Caron said the feedback received at town meeting, suggested that people were confused by the language and that is why the board was revisiting this. Brand Cedrone, 246 Lincoin Avenue, said the way the language is written is so that a "yes" Means "no" and a "no" means"yes." Mr. Moore said the item that was talked about at town meeting, was not for a debt exclusion. He said it was never specifically mentioned that it was for a debt exclusion. He said this has been voted and he did not like the idea of going back again. Roll Call Vote: Chairman Caron, aye. Selectman Pacheco, aye. Selectman Mello, aye..” (Motion: Mark Pacheco)
