Rescind the Board's prior support of the Citizen's Petition of a Bylaw on the Climate Resolution
To rescind the Board's prior support of the Citizen's Petition of a Bylaw on the Climate Resolution
“Ms. McMahon moved to rescind the Board's prior support of the Citizen's Petition of a Bylaw on the Climate Resolution; Mr. Mezzadri seconded. Ms. Sullivan pointed out that the Citizen Petition on the Bylaw had already been placed. Mr. Bergeron explained he believed his first Citizen Petition for a Bylaw had to be on the warrant. He would make a motion to indefinitely postpone the article and the act on this new Petition. Ms. Sullivan pointed out that had to occur at Town Meeting. Mr. Plath further explained that once a Citizen Petition is filled with the Town one citizen, in this case Mr. Bergeron, cannot act on behalf of everyone that signed it and withdraw it. Mr. Bergeron's thought on the process of indefinitely postponing it at Town Meeting was correct. The Board voted: Mr. Terrio "aye", Mr. Lambton "aye", Ms. McMahon "aye", Mr. Mezzadri "aye" and Mr. Flanagan "aye".” (Motion: McMahon, second: Mezzadri)
