To support the Town-owned land evaluation process and that we identify the 55 | undesignated parcels and send this out to committees, commissions, and boards as they might want stake in some of this land
“Bob Mezzadri moved to support the Town-owned land evaluation process and that we identify the 55 | undesignated parcels and send this out to committees, commissions, and boards as they might want stake in some of this land. John Terrio seconded. : Sheryl McMahon asked if there is a way to identify which parcels have been taken for general municipal | purposes. Dan Fortier replied that properties were categorized. Some were taken for specific purposes : like conservation, recreation, and cemetery. Most properties with buildings were put into set : categories. He said that this presentation is a mile high look at it in terms of the screening process. Some if properties may need to be re-evaluated as uses potentially change, like the Wixon school. He said that the schools are currently on a list for their current set use. : Approved by Board of Selectmen 8/13/19. : Dennis Town Hail, Stone Hearing Room Liz Sullivan mentioned that this relates to another subset of Board goal: tax title assessments. She said that next week the Town has an appointment with another agency to start working on that. This is a great tool for boards and committees to provide their input on these parcels and with the Board's : endorsement we can send it to them for review. Sheryl McMahon said that this is great work. She said that it is a long overdue step. She suggested | setting up an ad-hoc group of stakeholders to look at these things with a very specific interest with a | specific focus when the list is complete. | | Liz Sullivan stated that this reminds her of a short term temporary committee that could be charged | with this purpose; similar to the Beach Safety and Monitoring Committee. It is an excellent way to have a standardized review. Sheryl McMahon added that we need to get more community buy in. | Wayne Bergeron stated that Dan Fortier and the others did a great job. He asked the Board of Selectmen to prioritize workforce housing. Bob Samoluk, Dennis Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Chair thanked Dan Fortier, Town Administrator Liz Sullivan, and the other staff involved on the thoughtful and transparent way this is being done. He expressed concerned about releasing the data, without an understanding of the process. Paul McCormick said that the next step would be to send it to other boards and committees. | Sheryl McMahon said that she wanted to have a 45 day comment period and then afterwards use an ad- | hoc committee. The Board of Selectmen voted 5-0-0.” (Motion: Mezzadri, second: Terrio)
