Take a position on Article 10 of the Special Town Meeting warrant (citizens’ petition)
Travis Snell made a motion to take a position on Article 10 in the Town Warrant. David Model seconded. Christina Christodoulopoulos, Co-Chair of ESC, asked if the Select Board would still support putting the article in the spring Town Meeting warrant. If so, given the fact it's six months before implementation, the assumption that info would be ironed out in that time. Kate Reid noted that six months from now, there will be a track record. Nathan Brown said they can't guarantee that they would do it as there is more information to gather. David noted his concern is because the citizens rushed this article, the risk is that it fails, and it won't be ready for the spring. Barney Arnold suggested that the Select Board wait to take a position on this article. Nathan Brown noted they could say why they took the position they did take. Kate Reid suspected their decision won't be unanimous, which will be more difficult to explain at Town Meeting. MOTION CONTINUED: Nathan Brown aye, Barney Arnold nay, David Model nay, Travis Snell aye, Kate Reid nay. Motion denied, 3-2.
