Question of approving contract PW/26-12 "Brookline Golf Course Phase Two Renovations" with J. Bates and Son in the amount of $1,374,284.83, and authorizing the Recording Secretary to use the Select Board's signature stamp to execute the contract due to the off-site meeting location. General Manager of the Brookline Golf Course, Justin Lawson, reviewed the contract. This contract will address drainage issues on the course. The rain run-offs interrupt programming and operations of the course. In 2023, they lost 43-50 days of operations; this year, with a drought, they have been flourishing. This contract will provide significant infrastructure changes to the golf course. The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to, all construction services necessary to improve the functionality of the Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course as it relates to drainage. Existing creeks will be enlarged and renovated to provide more on-site storage capacity and wildlife habitat. Significant shrub planting is also part of this project. This project is the culmination of over 5 years' worth of planning through various entities.
