Question of approving the Second Amendment to the Lease with Temple Ohabei Shalom, 1187 Beacon Street, for FY2025, including more "hours of use" to accommodate the planned BEEP full school day.
“Question of approving the Second Amendment to the Lease with Temple Ohabei Shalom, 1187 Beacon Street, for FY2025, including more "hours of use" to accommodate the planned BEEP full school day. It was reviewed that the School Committee moved BEEP to a full program. Board member Warren inquired about the funding allocation. This should be allocated within the operating budget, not the CIP. Is there a plan to move these funds away from the Capital account? Melissa Goff responded this has been an issue raised every year. This was a decision on the override in 2015 to lower that override amount and moved it to the CIP as a temporary measure as the town was looking for a new school. The school committee has heard loud and clear the desire to get away from leases. A portion of CIP is operating. Board member Warren added we need to be clear we want to properly fund education and need a clear understanding the cost to the town to provide that service. Question to approve the application for a change in D/B/A at 1160 Boylston Street: From: Winestone, INC. d/b/a None To: Winestone, INC. d/b/a Winestone Approved Aye: Bernard Greene, John VanScoyoc, Miriam Aschkenasy, Michael Sandman, Paul Warren.”
