Voted to adopt of an increase to the non-union wages by 1.0% percent effective immediately and retroactive to July 1, 2021 I am also recommending that the Board modify the vacation leave benefit for mid management employees within the MMTP plan. In 2015, the Town reduced vacation benefits for this group in response to audit findings highlighting the unfunded financial liability of accrued vacation leave. Among other actions taken, vacation leave was reduced from four to two weeks for any new mid management employee hired after 2015. Over time, this reduction has proven to be unproductive. Two weeks of vacation for this group of employees is not competitive when recruiting and retaining employees within the current labor market.
