Authorize the FY26 budget policy guidance of level services with minor enhancements

Minutes, page 1

ApprovePassed · Unanimous, 5 present

Chair Hilberg moved to authorize the FY26 budget policy guidance of level services with minor enhancements. Seconded by Member McKiernan. Discussion: Adam Klein, Chair of the School Committee, stated that a level service budget is a great way to create fiscal guidance of 5% but the Town Administrator should also be able to consider if there are enhancements and other efficiencies that could be created to fit into a level services budget. The Board agreed that this was important. Tony Newton, Finance Committee, asked if the efficiencies proposed could be documented in some way, as to show where the savings may come from. A five year review of these items would be helpful. Vote: Approved: 5-0-0.
